Inelegance
"What dreadful hot weather we have! It keeps me in a continual state of inelegance."
-Jane Austen

Our 10 day weather forcast does not go below 101 degrees and goes up to 104 more than once (daytime highs) so I am naturally staying inside as much as possible. At least July is the hottest month of the year here. At least July is more than halfway over. At least we have Air Conditioning and yes, we certainly use it.
After waking from her afternoon nap Penelope came in to me and said "I awake!" I then tried to get a hug but she was off to the other room yelling on the way "I check Dowen, hold on, right back" Penelope is walking around almost continually with her sunglasses and hat on; a purse on her arm and bracelets on her wrist, its so cute I can hardly stand it!
Dowen is really amazing. He is saying consonant sounds I believe his first word is ma ma (perhaps I am wishing this to be true more than it actually is). Of course if you ask Clayton ma ma is really Dowen's 4th word as he started saying ba first (ball), ba ba second (baseball), ma ba ba third (more baseball) and ma ma forth. Dowen doesn't really say these sounds in reference to anything yet though.
I am feeling myself in need of some inspiration and have found Laines Letters to be a great encouragement in my home-keeping ministry.

And yet your grass is still green! Our yard is brown, brown, brown. J says that's nature's course...it'll turn green again someday. =)
I like your house!
first, both henry and jude both said, "ball" first, and we do not watch baseball in this house. soccer, basketball, etc. since clayton watches, plays, and breathes baseball, it's highly likely that ball is the first word. mama is a better word, though, and means more to him, of course.
i need to see this girl in her audrey hepburn attire . . .
