Moving on

I haven't been spending much time online lately and have decided to just do facebook and myspace to keep in touch with friends. If anyone who might happen to be looking to keep in touch would like to, you can find me on myspace or facebook!

Thanks :)

P.S. Just send me an e-mail if you have an account on either of these sites and can't find me - stacie@campbellfam.org

My little one

I wanted to let everyone know (at least those of you dear ones that I keep in touch with mainly through blogging) that we lost our baby. I went in for my 18wk ultrasound expecting to find out if we were having a boy or a girl and the technician couldn't find a heartbeat. Calvin Lewis Campbell was born the next day and we discovered that his umbilical cord had become twisted and cut off circulation. We did get to hold our sweet little boy and say goodbye to him, I am thankful for this.

Please keep us in your prayers, we are just totally leaning on the Lord right now and He has comforted us beyond belief.

Two Turtledoves

We have some news to share! I just had to join the ranks of all my pregnant friends. We found out about a month ago that we are expecting baby number 3! I am due in late November and right now am feeling the full effects of morning (all day) sickness. Can't wait for that second trimester and hopefully I will feel more like being a human again. One of the worst things right now is that I can smell e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g. And trust me, Bakersfield is not a place where you want to have a heightened sense of smell (lots of dairy farms outside of town).

Last week I discovered a nest in our backyard, I finally figured out which regulars at our birdfeeder were the nesters and it turns out to be a couple of turtledoves. They are sweet and I can hear them cooing when I have the back windows open. I even saw the babies yesterday though they look more like adolescent birds. I guess the nest had been there for a while before I even realized it.

One Month

My mother in law, Karen, started a new blog/podcast (ministry, really) to encourage homeschool moms, you really MUST check it out . I promise you will come away encouraged and refreshed, ready to serve your family!
We have had a bunch of little girl birthday parties to go to so far this year and it has been tons of fun. Two parties were at a ballet studio here and Penelope dressed up and danced like a real ballerina! She did so well, I was impressed! I think this summer we are going to sign her up for lessons. Dowen is becoming more talkative and is still my cuddly little guy. He likes Starbucks as you can see from the picture :)
Clayton started his solo practice on the first of March and has been incredibly busy so far. We feel really blessed in this new endeavor.
I went to Target twice yesterday. Yes, I know its an obsession and I must get help. The first time was in the afternoon with both of the kids and between Dowen opening up the industrial sized hand soap refill bottle and squirting it all over himself and Penelope begging to go down the Princess aisle I got all frazzled and had to go back again after they were in bed. I then wandered around in a daze for about an hour and came out with a new mop from the Method cleaning line. I am such a sucker for thier stuff, its just so. . . cool. As I drove home with my new mop in the seat next to me I envisioned the sparkling floors; the joyous way I would dance through the kitchen every evening mopping just for fun. Well, I was so motivated that I did even use it last night and my kitchen looks better than it has in days, ok, weeks.

Two little birds made by me. The one in back is a bit rebellious and didn't take his glaze as he was supposed to but it is rather a happy accident because I still like how he turned out.

Congratulations to my friends who are expecting little bundles of joy in the coming months; Debi, Hanne and Lauren (twins!). May you all have morning sickness-free and easy pregnancies :) Also congrats to Aaron and Casey who are expecting a little one via adoption this year.

We have taken the plunge. Yesterday Clayton gave his notice at work and is going to be opening up his own law practice in the next few weeks. This is and exciting time and also a bit scary but the Lord has really opened doors for us and we know it is time.

Happy Valentines day everyone and if you are a Republican check out this site for a laugh, if you are a Democrat, you will probably be offended by it but you have been warned ;)

Cowboy-girl

On monday Clayton had the day off and we celebrated by taking the kids up to the farm of a guy that Clayton works with. Penelope was led around the corral to her hearts content and felt like a real cowboy-girl (her word)

Blogging has been slow lately because it was Christmas and we were traveling. . . and well, I haven't really been in the mood for it. I will try to be better ;)

Birthday Boy

My little guy is now a year old. Oh how the time flies! For his birthday we had my parents and SeaAnna over for dinner and cake. Dowen didn't really seem to know what to do with the cake but decided that instead of using his hands he should just sort of dive face first into it.

On Tuesday we went to a "Family Fun Fest" at our sister church that is about 45min away. Penelope dressed up as a ballerina/princess (of course) and Dowen was Superman.

Yesterday Dowen's first tooth broke through, or at least that is when I noticed it for the first time. Its on the top right hand side and is very cute :) I'm glad he finally got a tooth, we were beginning to think he might need toddler dentures or something.

You might also notice that I don't have many pictures of the kids up on my blog anymore and it is quite possible that I'm just paranoid but if you want to see lots of great pictures please just e-mail me (stacie@campbellfam.org) and I will add you to my friends list on Flickr.
